New AI-software for intracoronary OCT analysis launched in Radboudumc
Abbott has officially launched Ultreon 3.0 within the cardiac cathaterization labs in Radboudumc. Ultreon 3.0 is the newest software version for intracoronary optical coherence tomography (OCT). This major update introduces several powerful features that advance the role of OCT in coronary interventions.
Key features of Ultreon 3.0 include:
- Automated co-registration — aligning OCT and angiography for more efficient lesion assessment
- OCT-FFR — enabling functional lesion assessment directly from OCT pullbacks, to evaluate the degree of ischemia for each lesion
- Lipid classification — automated identification frames with lipid present to support treatment planning
These innovations mark an important step forward in making intracoronary imaging more informative and actionable at the point of care. For the CARA Lab, Ultreon 3.0 opens exciting new opportunities for research collaboration — particularly in combination with our OCT-AID model. The advanced outputs provided by Ultreon 3.0, including automated co-registration and lipid characterization, create a strong foundation for integrating and further validating OCT-AID in real-world clinical workflows.
