Simone Saitta awarded NWO Veni grant

We are very happy to share that Simone Saitta has been awarded an NWO Veni grant (TTW domain) for his project on probabilistic digital twins for the anatomical and functional assessment of the coronary arteries.

In the catheterization laboratory, decisions about coronary artery disease are often made from two-dimensional X-ray angiography alone, and the tools currently available give clinicians no indication of how reliable their output is. Over the next three years, Simone will develop anatomically-constrained diffusion models and physics-informed graph neural operators to obtain reliable estimates of coronary anatomy and function from a single X-ray view, with uncertainty quantification built in so that the framework can flag when the imaging evidence is insufficient for a confident clinical decision.

The project will be carried out within the qurAI group, together with clinical collaborators at Amsterdam UMC and Radboudumc.
